“He has been murdered as the TMC thieves and goons” says Suvendu Adhikari; Allegations of foul play surround the death of a BJP worker in West Bengal
The body of Subhadeep Mishra, a local BJP worker, was found hanging from a tree by villagers in the Nidhirampur village in West Bengal's Bankura district on Wednesday. Mishra had recently participated in the 2023 Panchayat Elections from the Saltora Assembly Constituency area as a BJP candidate. West Bengal LoP Suvendu Adhikari has alleged that TMC ‘goons’ have ‘murdered’ Mishra as they ‘couldn't digest his growing popularity and stance against corruption.’
The family of the deceased BJP worker said that he had been missing for the past week. On Wednesday morning, his lifeless body with bound hands was found hanging from a tree in the area.
“TMC goons have murdered Subhadeep Mishra and hung his body from a tree with his hands tied… He has been murdered as the TMC thieves & goons couldn't digest his growing popularity and stance against corruption… The role of the Superintendent of Police; Bankura District Police, in this incident must be investigated thoroughly… District Police units are nothing but TMC Cadres in uniform. Their only job is to ensure TMC party's existence continues as long as possible.”said West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari insinuating that TMC workers have ‘murdered’ Subhadeep Mishra. “I demand CBI investigation as Police would do their best to tamper evidence and protect the culprits who belong to the ruling TMC party, in order to please their political masters,” added Adhikari.
Upon the arrival of the police at the scene to retrieve the deceased leader's body, a protest was initiated by BJP leader Chandana Bauri who refused to surrender the body to the authorities. Bauri went to the extent of lying down in front of the police vehicle, obstructing their attempts to remove the body of the deceased BJP leader.
Hitting back at Suvendu Adhikari, Trinamool Congress leader Birbaha Hansda asked the Lop not to ‘exploit this tragedy to malign TMC.’ “The family of the deceased @BJP4Bengal worker has blamed the death on a complicated romantic relationship. The IC, DSP & Addl. SP are at the spot investigating the cause of the death. Meanwhile, LoP @SuvenduWB should stop exploiting this tragedy to malign @AITCofficial.”said Hansda, taking to social media platform ‘X’.
BJP workers in West Bengal's Bankura held protests against the TMC government and local administration after the death of Subhadeep Mishra.
