Gun-Wielding Men Threaten Motorists in Pune, Sparking Security Concerns
In a disturbing incident that has heightened security fears in Pune, two young men were filmed threatening motorists with firearms on the road between Vadgaon Bridge and Warje Bridge. The suspects, riding two-wheelers and openly brandishing guns, remain unidentified, prompting Pune police to launch an active search for them.
The incident, captured on video, quickly went viral on social media, showing the youths intimidating drivers and passengers with pistols. This incident contributes to a troubling rise in violent activities across the city, which has recently seen an increase in shootings and gang-related threats involving knives.
Baramati MP Supriya Sule responded to the viral video on X, expressing her deep concern over the alarming situation. "An incident occurred in broad daylight between Warje Bridge and Navale Bridge in Pune, where firearms were brandished to spread fear. This is a very serious matter," she stated. Sule criticized the BJP-led MahaYuti government, claiming that "the weakness of the Home Minister has emboldened criminals, and ordinary people are bearing the brunt." She emphasized that "the MahaVikas Aghadi is dedicated to addressing such criminal activities and restoring law and order in Pune and across the state."
