Mumbai: In a startling development in the murder case of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui, Crime Branch officials have uncovered the involvement of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Shiv Kumar Gautam, the primary shooter arrested from Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, revealed during interrogation that he had been in direct contact with Bishnoi through an online conversation while residing in Pune.

According to sources, Bishnoi assured Gautam that if he were arrested after killing Siddiqui, he should remain calm as his release would be secured within days. "Even after his arrest, he shows no fear or remorse. He believes he will be released soon," a Crime Branch official emphasized, highlighting the extent of brainwashing Gautam underwent.

Bishnoi allegedly promised to free Gautam from jail, pay him ₹12 lakh, and relocate him abroad. Gautam further disclosed that Bishnoi boasted about a team of powerful lawyers who would ensure his swift release.

Shooter Recruited After Online Interviews

This is the first time Lawrence Bishnoi’s name has surfaced in the investigation. Sources reveal that Bishnoi personally interviewed Gautam and two other shooters, Dharamraj Kashyap and Gurmel Singh, via an online call before assigning them the murder. The interviews were conducted while they were in Pune, where they were subjected to intense indoctrination.

Anmol Bishnoi, Lawrence's brother, connected the shooters through the Signal app, with key conspirator Shubham Lonkar also present. Bishnoi allegedly lured the shooters with promises of wealth and relocation abroad after the crime. He instructed Anmol to maintain contact with the shooters and continue the brainwashing process by invoking societal and religious sentiments.

Crime Branch Investigations Ongoing

Despite these startling revelations, officials from the Mumbai Crime Branch remain tight-lipped, citing the ongoing investigation. "We are verifying the information and will act accordingly," an official said.
