Gabriel Attal becomes France's youngest and first openly gay Prime Minister
French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday appointed education minister, Gabriel Attal as the new Prime Minister of France, making the 34-year-old the youngest and first openly gay head of government.
As per reports, Attal was named the new PM by Macron with an aim to breathe new life into his second term, ahead of the European Parliamment elections.
This decision followed the resignation of Elisabeth Borne who served two years in office. On Monday, the French President accepted Borne's resignation.
