The Election Commission of India on Monday announced the scheduling of bypolls to fill vacancies in 13 Assembly Constituencies spanning across Bihar, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh. These elections are slated to be held on July 10, with the counting of votes set for July 13. The Election Commission has declared that the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) will be immediately enforced in the districts where the respective assembly constituencies fall, in accordance with regulations.

The timeline for the assembly by-polls is, the notification will be issued on June 14, the deadline for filing nominations is June 21, the scrutiny of nominations will take place on June 24, and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is June 26. The actual polling will occur on July 10, with results expected to be announced on July 13. These by-polls are necessitated by vacancies created due to either the demise or resignation of the incumbent members.

Several constituencies are set for by-polls on July 10. In Bihar, Rupauli will see a by-poll due to the resignation of Bima Bharti. West Bengal faces multiple vacancies, with Raiganj, Ranaghat Dakshin, Bagda, and Maniktala all requiring new representatives following resignations or the passing of incumbent members. Tamil Nadu's Vikravandi constituency is also included, with the need for a by-poll arising from the demise of Thiru. N. Pugazhenthi. Meanwhile, in Madhya Pradesh, Amarwara will undergo a by-poll due to the resignation of Shri Kamlesh Pratap Shah.

Additionally, Uttarakhand's Badrinath and Manglaur constituencies will hold by-elections due to the resignation and death, respectively, of Shri Rajendra Singh Bhandari and Shri Sarwat Karim Ansari. Punjab's Jalandhar West will see a by-poll following the resignation of Shri Sheetal Angura, while Himachal Pradesh faces multiple vacancies in Dehra, Hamirpur, and Nalagarh due to the resignation of Shri Hoshyar Singh and Shri Ashish Sharma, and Shri K.L.
