Disha Salian’s Father Files Petition in Bombay HC, Demands Fresh Probe

Satish Salian, father of late celebrity manager Disha Salian, has filed a petition in the Bombay High Court seeking a fresh investigation into his daughter’s death. The petition demands an FIR against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray and requests the probe be handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). It alleges that Disha was gang-raped before being murdered.

Disha died on June 8, 2020, after allegedly falling from the 14th floor of a building in Malad, Mumbai. Police had ruled it a suicide, and at the time, her father had expressed satisfaction with the investigation. However, in his latest petition, Salian claims that the family was placed under house arrest and pressured into accepting the police’s version of events. The plea also levels serious allegations against actors Sooraj Pancholi, Dino Morea, and the Mumbai Police.

Political Reactions Intensify

Following the petition, political tensions in Maharashtra have escalated. Cabinet Minister and BJP leader Nitesh Rane stated, “Aaditya Thackeray should resign as an MLA and face the investigation.”

Shiv Sena (UBT), however, suspects a political conspiracy. Party spokesperson and former Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar questioned the timing of the case resurfacing, saying, “How has this matter come back into focus after more than four years? An SIT was already formed for investigation.”

Meanwhile, Rane reiterated his long-standing claim that Disha was murdered. “I have said from day one that Disha Salian was killed. CCTV footage was erased, and pages from the visitor’s register of the society were torn,” he alleged.

NCP (Sharad Pawar) Accuses BJP of Politicizing the Case

NCP (Sharad Pawar) MLA Rohit Pawar accused the BJP of using the case for political mileage. “If a person seeks justice for their daughter, they should get it. But this death happened four years ago. Why is the BJP raising this now?” he asked.

Rane's Previous Allegations and CBI Demand

Rane has repeatedly demanded a CBI probe into the case. He previously claimed that Disha had called the police helpline before her death, which should have been recorded. “Mumbai Police had all the information but failed to act. I am ready to assist the CBI if they investigate the matter,” he had stated.

Earlier, Rane had also written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, demanding protection for Disha’s boyfriend, Rohan Rai. He had alleged that Rai’s statement could expose key links between the deaths of Disha Salian and actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Disha’s Party Night and Suicide Theory

Shortly after Disha’s death, a video surfaced showing her dancing happily at a party hours before she allegedly took her own life. This led to questions about why she would have committed suicide if she was in a good mood. However, no official confirmation about the video’s authenticity was provided.

Meanwhile, police sources had earlier suggested that Disha was under professional stress, which may have led to her suicide. They claimed that her work performance was declining, and her friends had organized the party to lift her spirits.​
