BJP Suvendu Adhikari’s “Throw Out Muslim MLAs” Remark Sparks Outrage; TMC Calls it “Dangerous, Provocative, and Depraved”

West Bengal Leader of Opposition and Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) leader Suvendu Adhikari on Tuesday has threatened to throw out Trinamool Congress elected Muslim MLAs from the state assembly if BJP is elected to power in 2026 state assembly election. His remark has sparked off a massive row with TMC calling his comment communal and in contrast to PM Narendra Modi’s stated “sabka sath sabka viswas…” position.

“This is a communal government. This government is Muslim League 2. The way the previous delhi speaker is out, the Bengal assembly speaker Biman Banerjee will be out very soon. And we will also throw out every Muslim TMC MLA from the assembly, we will pick them and throw them out on the street outside the assembly after we come to power in 2026, it’s a matter of 10 months now”, said Suvendu Adhikari while criticising the assembly speaker.

TMC has strongly reacted to the comment and called it communal and a hate speech. “This is a blatant hate speech. This is BJP’s ideology. It is a criminal offence to make such statements while holding a constitutional post” said TMC leader Kunal Ghosh while demanding action against him.

Suvendu Adhikari continues to remain suspended from the state assembly after the ruckus during the budget session in February. Adhikari had previously questioned the need for “sabka sath, sabka viswas…” in Bengal after the Lok Sabha debacle. BJP had lost six seats in Bengal and was reduced to 12 out of 42 seats. “We don’t need sabka sath, sabka viswas…enough is enough. Let’s stop this now. Jo hamare sath, hum unke sath ( we are with them who are with us…)” Adhikari had said during an internal party meeting in July last year
