BJP Leaders organize a prayer meeting at Delhi’s Rajghat to pray for the ‘liberation’ of the people from the ‘corrupt’ AAP Government
BJP MPs and MLAs, along with several other party leaders, organized a prayer meeting at Delhi’s Rajghat to pray for the "liberation" of the people of Delhi from the allegedly "corrupt" AAP government.
BJP Delhi President Virendra Sachdeva has claimed that their protests are in tandem with Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals, who detested the consumption of alcohol as it is detrimental to the human body and soul. "Kejriwal has not only destroyed the soul but also the entire Aam Aadmi Party," said the BJP Delhi President. Hitting out at CM Arvind Kejriwal, he said that they are praying for the ‘liberation’ of the people of Delhi from the ‘corrupt AAP government’ and alleged that the Chief Minister is the ‘kingpin’ of the liquor scam.
“AAP leaders visited Rajghat a lot. However, we are now witnessing that they are the ones who are blatantly violating the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi,” said BJP MP Harshvardhan. BJP lawmaker Pravesh Singh Saheb said that the day is not far when Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, the ‘mastermind of the liquor policy would go to jail.’
BJP Union Minister Anuraj Thakur has said that several leaders of AAP are in jail for their alleged involvement in the scam; however, the ‘kingpin’ is yet to be arrested. “Kejriwal ji has no answer to the liquor scam that has brought shame to him. So far, the deputy chief minister and others have gone to jail, but the kingpin is still out. The probe is underway and the turn of the kingpin will also come," said the BJP MP addressing a press meet in Chhattisgarh.
The AAP on the other hand has accused the Enforcement Directorate of arresting Singh in retaliation for raising issues about the Adani Group in Parliament. At a press conference, senior AAP leader Atishi stated that in the past 15 months, more than 500 officers from the ED and CBI conducted raids on various locations connected to AAP leaders, but not a single piece of evidence was found against them. “The ED officers raided every inch of Sanjay Singh's residence but couldn't find anything. They arrested him because he constantly raised issues of Centre's corruption” said the AAP leader. Several AAP workers gathered at the party office on DDU Marg and raised slogans against the Centre, demanding Singh's release. A scuffle broke out between AAP workers and the police, resulting in the detention of some of them.
