BJP leader Ratan Dubey murdered in poll-bound Chattisgarh
BJP leader Ratan Dubey was allegedly murdered in the insurgency-hit state of Chattisgarh on Saturday. As per reports, Dubey was allegedly taken down by Maoists in the Kaushalnar market area in Narayanpur while campaigning for the BJP in the poll-bound state. The BJP leader was assassinated only three days before the first phase of the Chhattisgarh Assembly elections.
The Bastar IG Sundarraj P. has stated that a team was dispatched to the location and possible Naxal involvement in the case is being probed into.
The deceased BJP leader was the Vice President of BJP's Nayanpur district unit and the Assembly convenor. The incident has come only three days before the state is slated to hold elections in two phases, with the 1st phase being on November 7, followed by the second phase which is on November 17.
