Bharatiya Janata Party Unveils Election Manifesto for Haryana Assembly Polls, Promises Jobs and Financial Support
Bharatiya Janata Party president JP Nadda on Thursday released the party's manifesto for the upcoming Haryana assembly elections. In its election manifesto, the party pledged scholarships for OBC and SC students and to create two lakh government jobs in Haryana. The 'sankalp patra' (manifesto), released in Rohtak alongside Union Minister ML Khattar and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, also includes a guarantee of government jobs for every Agniveer from Haryana.
The manifesto outlines several key initiatives, including a monthly allowance of ₹2,100 for women under the Lado Lakshmi Yojna and cooking gas cylinders priced at ₹500 through the Har Ghar Grihini Yojna. Nadda remarked, “What was the image of Haryana 10 years back? Jobs used to be given on paper, and actions were taken against people. Haryana was known for land scams. Hence, when we discuss our manifesto, we must acknowledge these facts. We are committed to non-stop work.”
Nadda emphasized that the manifesto is a serious commitment, asserting that the BJP has a track record of fulfilling its promises and even delivering beyond what was initially pledged. “Haryana has changed under BJP's leadership. In 2014, the state's per capita income was ₹1.37 lakh, which has increased to ₹3 lakh. In terms of exports, Haryana's figures have risen from ₹68,000 crore to ₹2.5 lakh crore,” he stated.
In addition, BJP has promised scholarships for students from the OBC and SC communities to pursue studies in any government medical or engineering college across the country. Nadda further highlighted the government’s dedication to establishing up to ten industrial cities, modeled after the successful industrial township in Kharkhoda.
The Congress on Wednesday announced its election manifesto that includes legislation on minimum support prices (MSPs), a caste survey, and the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) aimed at farmers, women, and the youth if they come to power in the upcoming elections.
