The Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for the attack, which unfolded at the Crocus City Hall on the western outskirts of the capital. As per reports, assailants hurled explosives, leading to a massive fire that engulfed the venue.
According to reports, US intelligence officials revealed that American agencies had received intelligence suggesting that the Islamic State's branch in Afghanistan was planning an assault in Moscow, information about that was shared with the Russian authorities.
