Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party has launched "Operation Jhaadu", a ploy to crush the Aam Aadmi Party. "BJP has started 'Operation Jhaadu' so that we don't grow big and become a challenge to them," said Kejriwal in his address to party workers and AAP leaders, ahead of their march to the BJP Headquarters in Delhi. "Jhaadu" (broom) is the symbol of the Aam Aadmi Party.

"BJP has started 'Operation Jhaadu' so that we don't grow big and become a challenge to them. Through 'Operation Jhaadu', AAP's big leaders will be arrested, they are being arrested and in the coming days, AAP's bank accounts will be frozen. ED's lawyer has already given this statement in court that soon after the election AAP's bank accounts will be frozen, he said that if they freeze our account now we will get sympathy...after election, they will freeze our accounts, our office will be cleared out and we will be brought to streets. These are the 3 plans made by BJP," said the Delhi Chief Minister.

After the arrest of Bibhav Kumar, the personal assistant of Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the Swati Maliwal assault case on Saturday, the AAP Chief had announced that all top leaders would march to the BJP Delhi headquarters. Kejriwal asserted that the AAP leadership in unison would march to the BJP Headquarters challenging PM Modi's alleged "Jail ka Khel", aimed at crushing the Aam Aadmi Party. “I want to tell the Prime Minister that you are playing this ‘jail jail ka khel’… Tomorrow, I am coming to the BJP HQ with all my top leaders, MLAs, MPs at 12 noon. You can put in jail whoever you want; you can put all of in jail together. You think by putting all AAP leaders behind the bars, you will crush the party. You can try all you want, but, you will not be able to crush the Aam Admi Party in this way,” said Kejriwal.

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal has alleged that she has been physically abused by Arvind Kejriwal’s aide Bibhav Kumar when she had gone to meet with the Chief Minister at his residence on Monday. In her FIR, she stated that she was slapped, and kicked in her stomach and her pelvic region. After she filed an official complaint, she was sent for a medical examination and according to the MLC from AIIMS, Maliwal has bruises over her left leg and right cheek elbow below right eye. Following Maliwal's complaint, Bibhav Kumar was arrested from Arvind Kejriwal's residence on Saturday. However, the Aam Aadmi Party has dismissed all allegations and alleged that Maliwal is working at the behest of Bharatiya Janata Party to defame Arvind Kejriwal and the party.
