In a shocking turn of events, two people looted ₹10 lakh from two victims at gunpoint in Mumbai’s Girgaon, using pepper spray to carry out the crime. The VP Road Police have arrested one accused from Sirohi, Rajasthan, while the search for others is ongoing.
According to police reports, the robbery took place on the evening of December 20 at Shrinath Cooperative Housing Society in the Gulalwadi Circle of Girgaon. The victims, Indrakumar Motilal Prajapati, a Bhuleshwar resident employed with a private courier company, and his colleague Anurag Singh, were targeted while delivering cash. Indrakumar had received the money earlier that day from his employer, Harish Prajapati.
The duo was followed by two men who confronted them inside the society. The robbers threatened them with weapons and sprayed pepper spray in their eyes before snatching the cash and fleeing the scene. Shocked by the incident, the victims informed their employer, who advised them to approach the police.
The VP Road Police registered a robbery case based on the complaint and began scrutinizing CCTV footage from the area. Initial investigations revealed that the assailants had been trailing the victims for a significant duration. Authorities are also probing the possibility of an insider's involvement.
