A four-year-old boy reported missing from his school on Thursday, was discovered dead within the school premises in Patna, Bihar on Friday. An angry mob burnt tyres and vandalized the school premises after the body was found in a drainage gutter within the school premises.

The family of the diseased lodged a complaint after the boy went to school on Thursday but did not return home. The family had initially raised suspicions of kidnapping; however, the police later discovered the body of the 4-year-old on the school premises.

"In the CCTV footage, we saw that the child was entering the school but at no point can he be seen leaving the school premises. We will investigate it as a murder case as they were hiding the body and it shows criminal intent. We have detained three persons, inquiry is on," said Patna Superintendent of Police Chandra Prakash.

The exact cause of death remains undetermined, pending the results of a post-mortem examination. However, the boy’s family has alleged possible foul play and enmity with their family, suggesting the child may have been murdered as a result.

As per reports, discrepancies have been found between the school's account of the boy's attendance and the CCTV footage. It was discovered that the child had attended classes until midday before meeting with a tragic accident on a slider, resulting in fatal head injuries. Further suspicion arose as authorities found evidence of tampering with CCTV footage, leading to the detention of the school principal and her son for interrogation.

As the news of the incident spread, outrage swept through the streets of Patna, with angry protesters targeting the school and demanding justice for the 4-year-old. The situation escalated as vehicles were set ablaze, and parts of the school building were damaged.
