“Amit Shah will be the next Prime Minister of India,” claims Arvind Kejriwal
During his first public appearance after being released from jail on interim bail, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday claimed that Amit Shah will be the next Prime Minister of India. Kejriwal highlighted the BJP's practice of retiring leaders at 75, noting that Narendra Modi will reach this age on September 17 next year. “Modiji is not asking for votes for himself, but, he is asking for votes to make Amit Shah the next Prime Minister of the country,” asserted Arvind Kejriwal.
“They (BJP) keep asking who will be the Prime Minister of the INDIA alliance, but, I want to ask BJP who will be their Prime Minister if the party comes back to power? You must be thinking that what is Kejriwal saying, off course it will be Narendra Modi, but, no. Next year on Septemvber 17, Modiji will turn 75. Back in 2014, Modiji himself made the rule to retire leaders when they turn 75. LK Advani, Manohar Joshi, Sumitra Mahajan, and Yashwant Sinha were all retired. Now, its PM Modi’s turn to retire on September 17 next year,” said Kejriwal underscoring BJP’s longstanding tradition of retiring leaders once they turn 75. “If BJP comes back to power, they will first dispose Yogiji (Yogi Adityanath), and then they will make Modiji’s favourite Amit Shah the next Prime Minister of the country. PM Modi is asking for votes, not for himself but to make Amit Shah the next Prime Minister…Will Amit Shah fulfill all of Modi’s guarantees?” he added.
The AAP Chief also claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to propagate the idea of ‘One Nation, One Leader.’ “The Prime Minister has embarked upon a very dangerous mission…he wants to put forth the idea of One Nation, One Leader…If they win the upcoming elections, take it from me in writing that within a few days, Mamata Banerjee will be in jail, Tejashwi Yadav will be in jail, Stalin saab will be in jail, Pinnarayi Vijayan will be in jail, Uddhav Thakrey will be in jail, all opposition leaders will be in jail…He will not even spare his own leaders,” Arvind Kejriwal alleged.
Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 in connection with te allged Delhi liquor policy scam. After spending 50 days in jail, the Supreme Court granted Arvind Kejriwal interim bail until June 1 so he could campaign during the Lok Sabha elections. Kejriwal will need to surrender and return to jail on June 2.
