Anmol Bishnoi Built ‘Digital Wall’ to Run India Operations: Sources

A National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe has uncovered startling details about gangster Anmol Bishnoi’s operations, revealing that he remotely controlled a sprawling gang-terror network in India while living in the United States. Anmol, deported to India earlier this week and arrested immediately upon arrival, is believed to be the mastermind behind the murder of former corporator Baba Siddique.

According to investigators, Anmol relied heavily on Snapchat and similar auto-delete platforms to run the Bishnoi syndicate. The probe suggests he used disappearing messages, screenshot alerts and cloud-based clone accounts to build a “digital wall” that made tracing his activities extremely difficult. Through this setup, he allegedly coordinated shelter, weapons and logistics for shooters linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

As per Sources, Anmol never used traceable WhatsApp numbers or regular calls. Instead, he operated a rotating network of cloud-cloned Instagram accounts, temporary Snapchat usernames, virtual numbers purchased online and VPN-masked locations. Most accounts were active only for a few days before vanishing.

Accused arrested in the Baba Siddique murder case and the firing outside actor Salman Khan’s Bandra home told investigators they received weekly instructions from new IDs. Anmol is said to have sent voice notes, location pins and short videos to guide shooters. During meetings, associates played his voice on speakerphone to ensure his number or profile was never exposed.

The NIA believes the murder of Baba Siddique was carried out as revenge for the custodial death of accused Anuj Thapan, who was arrested in the Salman Khan firing case. Officials added that Anmol monitored gang activities through multiple burner Instagram accounts verified using cloud-based OTP services, further complicating the digital trail.

Despite the complex setup, investigators were able to reconstruct parts of the network using seized mobile phones, cloud backups and fragments of forensic data. Officials say the entire gang was being controlled from thousands of miles away through a layered social-media system.

According to Sources, a formal proposal is being drafted and will soon be sent to central agencies. With Anmol now in India, the Mumbai Crime Branch has begun preparing to seek his custody in both the Salman Khan firing and Baba Siddique murder cases.
