Maharashtra Cabinet Expansion Set for December 15, Oath-Taking Ceremony at Raj Bhavan
The Maharashtra BJP-led government’s cabinet is likely to swear in on December 15, with the oath-taking ceremony scheduled at 3 PM at the Raj Bhavan in Nagpur. The expansion comes just a day ahead of the winter session of the state legislature, which begins on December 16.
Nearly 30 new ministers are expected to be sworn in during the ceremony. As per sources, senior leaders from all three alliance parties are actively vying for ministerial berths. Earlier, confusion prevailed over the ceremony’s date, as the Protocol Department had initially planned for a Saturday event in Mumbai. However, the lack of official confirmation led to its rescheduling to Sunday.
Attention now turns to the allocation of key portfolios. Sources suggest that Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is likely to retain charge of significant departments like Urban Development, Tourism, and MSRDC. However, uncertainty looms over the Revenue portfolio, leaving leaders anxious as they await the final decisions.
