"Sindoor Turned to Gunpowder…”: PM Modi Asserts India Avenge Pahalgam Attack in 22 Minutes with Operation Sindoor

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday announced that India launched its swift and powerful retaliatory strike, Operation Sindoor, targeting terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to avenge the deadly Pahalgam terror attack of April 22. Addressing a public rally in Bikaner, Rajasthan, the Prime Minister said the operation, carried out on 7 May, destroyed nine major terrorist bases in just 22 minutes, showcasing India’s decisive military response.
“In response to the April 22 attack, we destroyed the nine biggest hideouts of the terrorists in 22 minutes,” Modi stated. “The enemies of the world and the country have seen what happens when vermilion turns into gunpowder,” he added.
The Pahalgam attack had claimed 26 lives, prompting strong nationwide outrage. According to reports, nearly 100 terrorists associated with outfits such as Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen were eliminated during the retaliatory strikes.
Reinforcing his message of national unity and military strength, the Prime Minister emphasised India’s resolve in combating terrorism. “India is united to fight terrorism. The gunshots in Pahalgam hit 140 crore Indians,” he said.
“We struck at the heart of terror. The government gave a free hand to the military, and the armed forces brought Pakistan to its knees.”
“Not blood, sindoor boils in my veins,” asserted the PM Modi.
The Prime Minister also took part in a series of official events during his visit. He inaugurated the redeveloped Deshnoke Station under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, enhancing facilities and infrastructure for travellers. He also flagged off the Bikaner-Mumbai express train, signalling improved connectivity between Rajasthan and Maharashtra.
Later, PM Modi interacted with local school students at the station, encouraging them to take pride in the nation’s development and heritage, and offered prayers at the Karni Mata Temple in Deshnoke.
