The Indian Army on Sunday released a new video of Operation Sindoor, its retaliatory military operation following the deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam that claimed the lives of 26 civilians.
The video was shared by the Army’s Western Command on its official X handle, accompanied by the caption: “Planned, trained and executed.” It further added, “Justice served.”
The visuals showed Indian military action, including shelling and firing across the Line of Control (LoC), targeting Pakistani positions. A soldier featured in the video stated, “This (Operation Sindoor) started with the Pahalgam attack. It is not anger but a resolve to teach a lesson that will be remembered in the future. It is justice, not revenge.”
According to the Army, all Pakistani posts involved in the initial provocation were destroyed in the strikes. The military action reportedly took place on 7 May and the following days, with nine terror-linked locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir being struck.
In the wake of Operation Sindoor, cross-border tensions spiked temporarily but were followed by a ceasefire agreement on 10 May. The Indian government confirmed that the ceasefire remains in effect and dismissed media speculation that hostilities were set to resume.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Ministry of Defence clarified,“Some media houses are reporting that the ceasefire between India and Pakistan is ending today. In addition, queries are also being received if a DGMO-level talk is scheduled today. The response is as under: No DGMO talks are scheduled today. As far as continuation of a break in hostilities, as decided in DGMOs interaction of 12 May is concerned, there is no expiry date to it.”
The Indian government has formed seven delegations comprising 51 political leaders—including MPs and former ministers from both the ruling NDA and opposition parties—to visit 32 countries and the EU headquarters in Brussels. Their mission is to present India’s position on terrorism and offer global context to Operation Sindoor. Leaders such as Baijayant Panda, Ravi Shankar Prasad (BJP), Shashi Tharoor (Congress), Sanjay Kumar Jha (JDU), Shrikant Shinde (Shiv Sena), Kanimozhi (DMK), and Supriya Sule (NCP-SP) will head the delegations, which will be assisted by former diplomats.
Pakistan, in a reciprocal move, also announced its own international outreach. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif revealed that Pakistan People’s Party leader Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would head a delegation to present Pakistan’s case globally.
