“No Force Can Erase Thackeray-Pawar Legacy from Maharashtra”: Raj Thackeray

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has issued a strong statement, asserting that no force can eliminate the legacy of the Thackeray and Pawar families from Maharashtra’s political landscape.

In a recent interview with a regional news channel, the MNS supremo emphasized the importance of the Marathi language and identity in the state. “Marathi must remain the primary language in Maharashtra. If the government attempts to impose Hindi as a third language, we will strongly oppose it, no matter what,” he declared.

Thackeray further stated that Hindi is not the national language, despite repeated attempts to portray it as such. “The Congress tried to declare Hindi as the national language, and they failed. BJP will also not succeed in doing so,” he added.

Commenting on the current political dynamics in the state, Thackeray criticized the appointment of Chhagan Bhujbal, to the state cabinet under Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

He also took a dig at the central government’s handling of “Operation Sindoor,” launched after the recent terror attack in Pahalgham. “You used immense defence power to kill four or five terrorists was that really necessary?” Thackeray questioned. “You call it a war between India and Pakistan? That’s not war. Go look at Gaza; that’s what real war looks like.”

Thackeray expressed dissatisfaction with the results of the recent assembly elections, where the factions led by Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde secured more seats than the groups led by Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray. “I am not ready to accept these results,” he said, hinting at possible irregularities.

He also criticized the Modi government for its aggressive posturing and handling of military operations but noted that the MNS had extended unconditional support to the BJP during the Lok Sabha elections.

Thackeray concluded by saying he would reveal more details and make further statements when the local body elections approach.
