Days after violence in Haryana claimed 6 lives, another shocker from the state. A journalist reporting on Gurugram clashes was threatened by miscreants, his video recording stopped. Three men were caught on camera threatening Newslaundry journalist Anmol Pritam, his religion was also enquired about.

Pritam, the journalist took to social media and also posted a video narrating the ordeal. He was asked to leave the spot, and to switch off his camera. Moreover, he was allowed to leave the spot, only after his religion was verified by them. "Are you Hindu or Muslim" the men in the video, could be seen asking Pritam.

Anmol Pritam wrote on social media, “Is it a crime to do journalism in Gurugram? Gurugram: In Sector 70, 200 Muslim families have fled fearing threats and assault by local Bajrang Dal workers. I was threatened twice when I was reporting there. My religion was asked and the camera was turned off.”

Pritam had gone to report on the recent clashes. He was reportedly near a colony where several people from the minority community had been affected in Sector 70, Gurugram, who have now fled their houses fearing threats and assaults by miscreants. The video posted by him shows three men arriving in an auto rickshaw accessorized with saffron flags and the Bajrang Dal anthem playing on a speaker. After which, the journalist was asked to stop reporting, he was threatened and asked to leave the area at the earliest. One of the men demanded that Pritam stops rolling the camera, and asked if he belonged to the hindu or the muslim community. The journalist flashed his identity card before them, and after they verified, he was allowed to leave.

The clashes that broke out in Haryana’s Nuh on Monday, has left over 100 people injured. Tensions escalated when a procession led by the Bajrang Dal and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad was stopped by a group of young men.
