"Will PM Modi now decide who will visit and when?": Rahul Gandhi denied entry into Assam's Batadrava Satra temple

Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who is currently in the Assam leg of his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra on Monday said thaf he was stopped from visiting the Batadrava Satra temple, the birthplace of saint Srimanta Sankardeva."Will PM Modi now decide who will visit a temple and when?" questioned Rahul Gandhi
"We are trying to go to the temple. We were invited and now they are telling us that we can't visit. We are not going to do anything forcibly. We have to do our yatra, we are asking them what is the reason? We are not going to disturb anybody. We have been invited there," said Rahul Gandhi who maintaned that he was invited to the temple, and then was denied the permission to enter. "I was invited there on the 11th, they've been pressurised so now we're asking if Gaurav can go because he's the local MP. They're obviously being ordered from top, they don't want me to go," asserted Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi, in a video could be seen reasoning with the police. "What is the issue brother? Can I go and see the barricades? What mistake have I made that I am not allowed inside the temple?," asked the Wayanad MP.
After being denied the permission to enter, Rahul Gandhi staged a dharna outside the temple, where the protestors could be heard singing songs such as "Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram." The temple's administration had requested Gandhi to schedule his visit after pm due to the Pran Prathistha event.
“At that time we do not want Rahul Gandhi to come here, because there may be some difficulties in the process of welcoming him...He can come tomorrow after 3 pm and we will be able to give him a grand welcome. We have already informed the local MLA, District Commissioner and SP," said Jogendra Narayan Dev Mahanta, the President of Batadrava Than management committee. He further stated that the temple was expecting a footfall of over 10,000 people during the consecration ceremony, therefore, Gandhi was not allowed to enter, in order to maintain order.
With Rahul Gandhi at the helm, Congress's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra commenced on January 14 from Thoubal in Manipur, the march is expected to end in March, in Mumbai, covering the expanse from east to west across India.
