A three-year-old boy died after accidentally drowning in a water pool while his pregnant mother was attending a maternity photoshoot on the outskirts of Bengaluru on Sunday, according to police.
The child had accompanied his mother, Swati, to Giddenahalli village near Nelamangala, where she had gone for a second maternity photoshoot ahead of the birth of her child. During the shoot, the boy was reportedly playing near the location when he accidentally fell into a small water pool.
Police stated that family members and others present at the site began searching for the child after noticing his absence and later found him inside the pool. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival. The body was subsequently sent to Nelamangala Government Hospital for postmortem examination.
Authorities confirmed that the family resides in JP Nagar, Bengaluru. The child’s father, Charan Raj, who was abroad for work at the time of the incident, returned after being informed of the tragedy. Police have registered a case of unnatural death and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
