“These people are seasonal Hindus”: Giriraj Singh hits out at Congress for declining Ram Mandir consecration ceremony invitation
Union minister Giriraj Singh on Thursday took a dig at Congress for turning down the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony invitations, and stated that the leaders of the grand old party are “seasonal Hindus.”
“These people are seasonal Hindus, when they feel they have to get votes, they try to become soft Hindus. No one in the Congress has gone to Ayodhya since Jawaharlal Nehru. It was the Congress party itself that had done the work of pending the case in the court, hence they do not have the moral strength to go to Ayodhya,” said Giriraj Singh.
Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan also launched a scathing attack on the Congress and said that “it is because of such positions that the Congress takes that it has been reduced to the margins today.” “Ram is our Lord. He represents the soul and the identity of Bharat. The turning down of the invitation to the Pran Pratishtha by the Congress is a rejection of India's identity and culture,” said the former Madhya Pradesh CM.
Congress on Wednesday informed that senior leaders, Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury will not be attending the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony slated to take place on January 22.
“Lord Ram is worshipped by millions in our country. Religion is a personal matter. But the RSS/BJP have long made a political project of the temple in Ayodhya. The inauguration of the incomplete temple by the leaders of the BJP and the RSS has been obviously brought forward for electoral gain. While abiding by the 2019 Supreme Court judgment and honouring the sentiments of millions who revere Lord Ram, Shri Mallikarjun Kharge, Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Shri Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury have respectfully declined the invitation to what is clearly an RSS/BJP event,” read the statement released by Congress.
The highly anticipated Ram Mandir consecration ceremony in Ayodhya is scheduled to take place on January 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accompanied by a diverse array of dignitaries, including athletes, celebrities, spiritual leaders, and business figures, will be present to mark the occasion.
