Shocking visual from Rajasthan, man mercilessly crushed to death by a tractor; BJP ‘dares’ Priyanka Gandhi to take cognizance

Horrifying visuals of a man being mowed down to death by a tractor have flooded social media platforms and garnered the ire of the netizens. Nitpal Singh was allegedly crushed to death in Bayana, Bharatpur district in Rajasthan by his brother Damodar Singh with a tractor which was reportedly driven back and forth 8 times until he died. The BJP has dragged the ruling Congress party into the spotlight over the grisly incident and has ‘dared’ Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, who is campaigning in the poll-bound state of Rajasthan to take cognizance of the incident and visit the accident spot before her scheduled rallies.

Police reports suggest that both Bahadur Singh and Atar Singh’s families were at loggerheads over a disputed plot of land and had clashed amongst themselves in the past. The last reported clashes between the families were 5 days ago when Bahadur Singh and his younger brother were injured. A case was filed against Atar Singh's family, including his son Nirpat.

Villagers have reported that the two families attacked each other with sticks and pelted stones at each other, soon after, gunshots could be heard. In the chaos that ensued, Nitpal fell to the ground and was crushed to death by Damodar Singh’s tractor. Damodar allegedly drove his tractor back and forth around 8 times, both families intervened but failed to stop the tractor. At least 10 people have been injured and are undergoing treatment in a hospital.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has condemned the ‘horrifying’ incident and has launched a scathing attack on the ruling Congress government, stating that such incidents are a ‘direct result of criminal and anarchist mentality arising under Gehlot government's tenure. Moreover, the BJP leadership has ‘challenged’ Priyanka Gandhi Vadra who is visiting the poll-bound state, campaigning for Congress, to visit Bharatpur before she embarks upon the scheduled political gatherings.

Taking to social media platform ‘X’, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Sekhawat said, “The incident of a man being mowed down by a tractor in broad daylight in Bharatpur's Bayana is horrifying. Since the matter was under police cognizance, the questions being raised are obvious. It is a condemnable incident and a result of the criminal and anarchist mentality arising under the Gehlot government's tenure. Congress and Priyanka are liars."

"Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has to project she has the spine and the gall to visit Bharatpur, to visit the place where this gruesome incident, this gruesome murder took place only a while ago, and the video which has gone viral across the country and beyond is heart-wrenching. This is a call to Priyanka Vadra…We were going to talk about a serious issue in this press conference but I could not stop myself after watching this video. That is why I challenge you to go there.” said BJP Spokesperson Sambit Patra stating that he could not stop himself from giving out a call to Priyanka Gandhi Vadra after coming across the ‘heart-wrenching’ video.

BJP has alleged that the prevalent lawlessness in the state and the brazen attitude of the criminals are directly proportionate to the lax attitude of the ruling Congress government. Taking a jibe at Priyanka Gandhi and the ruling Congress leadership of Rajasthan at large, Rajasthan LoP Rajendra Singh Rathore said, "The criminals are so fearless that they release video of the crime. The incident of Bharatpur is a blot on humanity. The system and the DGP are not able to do their work properly and that is why the criminals are fearless... Priyanka Gandhi says 'Ladki Hoon, Lad Sakti hoon', but she did not even fight with her MP who said that rapes are taking place because it is a land of men…She has neither condemned any incident nor has she visited any place of such incidents... Now, that the report card is in front of the people and their departure is confirmed, she is coming here making her points, but before that, she should speak on crime against women in Rajasthan.”

So far, the police have arrested the prime accused Damodar Singh, and detained 5 others in connection to the case for further questioning. An investigation is underway and the police are trying to nab the absconding members of both the families.
