A woman was allegedly raped at home by a courier delivery boy, in a posh residential society in Pune on Wednesday. According to reports, once the 22-year-old went inside her apartment to fetch her phone for the OTP, the accused entered and closed the door; he then raped her and left the spot. The police have launched an investigation, ten teams, five from the crime branch and five zonal teams, are working on the case.
"Yesterday, around 7:30 pm, a delivery boy with a bank envelope reached the flat of a 22-year-old woman. When she went inside to get the PIN for the courier, he closed the door (and raped her),” said Rajkumar Shinde, Deputy Police Commissioner, adding that a case has been registered pertaining to sections relating to rape, assaulting a woman and criminal intimidation of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS).
According to reports, the delivery agent allegedly sprayed something on the woman’s face and she fell unconscious. Reports also claim that the accused clicked a selfie on the woman’s phone, and left a message “I will come again.”
“Ten teams, five from the crime branch and five zonal teams, are working on this case. The woman had been unconscious since 7.30 pm. Forensic experts were called to check (if something was sprayed on her). A selfie was found in the woman's phone. We are analysing it," said Rajkumar Shinde, Deputy Police Commissioner.
