Opposition India bloc likely to unveil their logo for 2024 Lok Sabha polls during the Mumbai meeting, claim sources

Opposition alliance INDIA  could have a logo soon and if there comes a consensus then the logo could be unveiled during the Mumbai chapter of the opposition meeting slated to happen between August 30 and September 1, claim sources.

The opposition alliance named INDIA - Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance was mooted by 26 parties during their Karnataka chapter meet. The name had invited criticism from the ruling BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had termed the alliance “Ghamandia” meaning prideful.

Meanwhile, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had asserted on Sunday that more parties were likely to join their bloc.  

The Mumbai meeting is significant since the parties are likely to decide on conveners and also delve into the contentious seat-sharing arrangement for the 2024 Lok Sabha election. The first meeting in Bihar had also exposed differences between the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party with the Delhi Chief Minister deciding to skip the joint press conference in Patna.

"We will discuss the INDIA bloc's strategies for next year's general elections during the upcoming meeting in Mumbai. Issues such as seat-sharing will be discussed and several other agendas will be finalised. A few more political parties will join our coalition. I wish to unite the maximum number of parties before the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. I am working in that direction," said Nitish Kumar, one who has been instrumental in bringing 26 parties for the first meeting in Patna in June this year.

Congress leader and MP Rahul Gandhi will be attending the meeting along with Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal amongst others. “We are all together. We have kept all differences aside and we will fight the battle together. It will be people of India vs. BJP in the upcoming election”, Mamata Banerjee stressed during the Patna meeting.

Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray and NCP along with Congress are arranging the 3 day long meeting in Mumbai, to conclude on September 1 with the mega brainstorming session. Sources say the leaders want to distribute states in a manner where all parties need not get involved with regard to seat-sharing arrangements in order to avoid confusion.
