N Chandrababu Naidu, the leader of the Telugu Desam Party, has been sworn in as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for the fourth time on Wednesday. The ceremony, held near Gannavaram Airport in Kesarapalli , was attended by several prominent leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and Union Ministers JP Nadda and Bandi Sanjay Kumar. Alongside Naidu, 24 members of his cabinet also took the oath of office.

The oath-taking event marked Naidu's return to power following a resounding victory in the Assembly polls held concurrently with the general election. Naidu, accompanied by Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan, his son Nara Lokesh, and 22 others, expressed his commitment to the state's development. Notable attendees at the ceremony included South Indian film icons Rajinikanth, Chiranjeevi, and actor-politician Nandamuri Balakrishna.

Naidu's political journey spans back to 1995 when he first assumed the role of Chief Minister, serving two terms before the state's bifurcation. He then held office as the first Chief Minister of bifurcated Andhra Pradesh from 2014 to 2019, followed by a stint as the opposition leader until his recent victory. The landslide triumph in the 2024 elections sees Naidu's TDP emerging victorious over the incumbent YSR Congress Party, with the NDA alliance securing a commanding majority in both the state Assembly and Lok Sabha. Notably, the TDP's support was instrumental in helping the BJP secure a government despite falling short of the majority mark.

In the Modi 3.0 cabinet, the TDP has secured a cabinet minister berth and a Minister of State position, solidifying Naidu's pledge to support the NDA government under Prime Minister Modi. The triumphant NDA alliance, comprising the TDP, Jana Sena, and BJP, swept the elections, underscoring their dominance in Andhra Pradesh's political landscape.
