Mohan Yadav sworn in as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh

Mohan Yadav has been sworn in as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other dignitaries in attendance. Governor Mangubhai Patel also officiated the swearing-in ceremony for Deputy Chief Ministers Rajendra Shukla and Jagdish Devda.

Mohan Yadav won the MLA seat in the Ujjain South constituency; he had previously served as a minister in the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government. Yadav is known for his affiliation with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and belongs to the Other Backward Classes (OBCs), constituting more than 48% of the state's population. In addition to his academic qualifications, including a PhD, LLB, and MBA, Yadav is recognized for his proficiency in sword fighting.

On Monday, the BJP named Mohan Yadav as the new chief minister of Madhya Pradesh. The 58-year-old leader secured victories in the 2013 and 2018 Assembly elections and held the position of education minister in the Chouhan cabinet.​
