“Hydrogen Bomb Coming Soon…”: Rahul Gandhi Teases Upcoming “Vote Chori” Exposé

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has reignited political tensions with a promise, a forthcoming exposé he has called the "hydrogen bomb," which he claims will expose deep-rooted collusion between the Election Commission and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in a systematic voter fraud operation.

Gandhi said it will be based on evidence so clear and indisputable that “nobody will be able to deny or refute it,” and is currently “in preparation.” “In a short while we will show you the hydrogen bomb…I told my team, if I have to go on stage, I need black-and-white proof, or I won’t go,” said Rahul Gandhi concluding his second expose on alleged “vote chori”, naming it “Vote Chori Factory – The Aland Files.”

In his press conference, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha stopped short of unveiling the “hydrogen bomb”, but, he did present what he called “damning evidence” of voter roll tampering. In a detailed PowerPoint presentation, Gandhi accused the Election Commission of enabling large-scale deletions of voters in Congress strongholds ahead of the 2023 Karnataka Assembly election.

He claimed this was not random or isolated, but part of a systematic, technology-driven operation. “This is not an individual effort. A group of people are using sophisticated software to delete millions of voters, and the Election Commission is protecting the vote thieves,” said Rahul Gandhi, suggesting that similar tactics have been deployed in states all across India to siphon votes. “This isn’t the first time this has happened, it has been happening for the last for the last 10-15 years. They have hijacked India’s democracy,” he added.

The senior Congress leader launched a scathing attack Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accusing him of complicity and warning that inaction from the EC in connection with the Karnataka elections within the next week would confirm its role in undermining the Constitution.

“You have seen it with your own eyes. This is 100% evidence. If the EC doesn’t release the data within a week, we’ll know for sure that Gyanesh Kumar is protecting those destroying the Constitution,” asserted the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha.

The "hydrogen bomb" narrative began on September 1 during Gandhi's speech at the conclusion of the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar. The opposition claims the revision is a pretext to disenfranchise voters from their strongholds. “We will not let them murder the Constitution. Have you heard of anything bigger than an atom bomb? BJP people, be ready, a hydrogen bomb is coming,” said Gandhi at the closing ceremony of the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’.

He has since reiterated the claim, warning the BJP that his upcoming revelation will be explosive in political terms. “To the BJP people who are getting agitated, I say don’t worry,” he said last week. “When the hydrogen bomb comes, everything will be clear.”

The BJP wasted no time in responding. Former Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad dismissed Gandhi’s comments as nonsensical and insulting to voters. “Whenever I listen to Rahul Gandhi, inside or outside Parliament, it takes time to understand what he is trying to say,” Prasad remarked. “How are atom bombs and hydrogen bombs related to elections? Rahul Gandhi is being irresponsible.” BJP leaders have accused the Congress of manufacturing baseless controversies to discredit the Election Commission and distract from their electoral setbacks.
