The clashes in Haryana have raised several questions against the BJP Manohar Lal Khattar Government, significantly, some are also asked by BJP member of Parliament.  Gurugram MP and Union Minister of State (Independent charge) Rao Inderjit Singh has questioned if the violence is a fallout of intelligence failure. He has expressed dismay as how people participated in the rally with swords and weapons.

“Kisne hathiyar diye unko is procession mein le jaane ke liye? Koi talwar leke jata hai procession mein? Lathi-dande leke jata hai (Who gave weapons to them for the procession? Who goes to a procession carrying swords, or sticks)? This is wrong,” said Inderjit Singh, as was quoted by The Indian Express. According to The Indian Express, he had further added, -“A provocation took place from this side too. I am not saying there was no provocation from the other side.”

His comments have given further ammunition to the opposition, lashing out at the Centre and BJP, questioning if this is the blueprint for the all important 2024 Lok Sabha Election. “BJP has launched their riot politics ahead of 2024 Lok Sabha polls. One can fool some people with riots sometimes, but not all the people can be fooled with riots, all the time” said Bengal CM & TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday.

Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar during a press conference on Wednesday claimed that 6 people have lost their lives. He also had hinted at role of outsiders who could have fostered tension. “No one involved in the violence will be spared” stressed the CM.

Gurugram Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav has indicated that miscreants, mostly outsiders, were from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. “ We are analysing all CCTV footages, videos and videos from local sources. Miscreants belong to no community. They are miscreants. And no one will be spared. There are videos that show many had come from outside districts and nearby states. Some of them came from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar”, said Yadav in an interview to NDTV.

Violence broke out during a religious procession on Monday in the Nuh district, claiming 6 lives. As per government statement, 116 people have been arrested, 90 detained, and 44 FIRs have been registered in connection with the clashes.
