Iran has issued a stern warning, urging an immediate halt to hostilities against Palestinians, as Israel gears for a potential ground invasion of Gaza. The Iranian Foreign Minister has also highlighted America’s unwavering support and assistance to Israel following the Hamas attack that claimed more than 1,400 Israeli lives.

"If the Zionist aggressions do not stop, the hands of all parties in the region are on the trigger," warned the Iranian foreign minister Hossein Amirabdollahian against the potential ground invasion of Gaza. "The responsibility for the possible opening of new fronts of resistance in the region and any escalation of today's war directly falls on the United States and the Zionist regime," he added, stating America’s involvement in the war efforts.

More than 2,670 individuals, 700 children among them, have died as a result of Israel's ongoing shelling of Gaza. Israel had shut off all food, water, and energy supply to the heavily populated coastal enclave, but water was restored on Sunday.

According to a statement from the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Amirabdollahian stated that no one could guarantee that the situation would be under control and that the conflicts wouldn't worsen. "Those who are interested in preventing the scope of war and crisis from expanding need to prevent the current barbaric attacks... against citizens and civilians in Gaza,” added the Iranian Foreign Minister.

In the meantime, Jake Sullivan, the national security adviser for the US, raised alarm in Washington about the risk of an escalation of the conflict in Israel and the involvement of Iran, a longtime foe of Israel and a supporter of Hamas.

Israel has dispatched troops and tanks to the UN-patrolled border with Lebanon in the north. It has also blocked a four-kilometer broad area to civilians after a fatal shooting across the border by the Iran-supported Hezbollah organization.
