The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday has filed its first chargesheet in connection to an alleged money laundering case related to the alleged land-for-jobs scam, naminf former Bihar chief minister and Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Rabri Devi, along with her daughters Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav.

As per reports, the chargesheet has been submitted before a special court under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in Delhi, and the court is scheduled to hear the case on January 16.

Amit Katyal, purportedly a close associate of RJD chief Lalu Yadav's family, has been named in the 4,751-page chargesheet, along with other individuals and companies, indicate the reports. Katyal was arrested in November 2023, in relation to this case. Despite his appeal, the Delhi High Court declined to dismiss the Enforcement Directorate proceedings against him.

“I have always maintained that it is not the fault of these agencies which are being made to function under so much pressure. But I must point out that a prediction I made some time ago has come true…I had said that no sooner than the assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh were over, these agencies would be back in business and train their guns on Bihar, Jharkhand, and Delhi," Lalu Prasad Yadav had hit out at ths Center, last December stating that the summons were politically motivated.

The Enforcement Directorate has previously summoned Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav and Lalu Yadav multiple times, but they have not appeared before the central agency.
