The TMC Manifesto for the Lok Sabha 2024 elections was unveiled by TMC MP Derek O'Brien on Wednesday

The Trinamool Congress on Wednesday released its manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, promising an array of social welfare measures and declaring its intent to repeal the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019, and halt the National Register of Citizens (NRC). Titled 'Didir Shopoth' (Didi's pledges), the manifesto pledges to provide guaranteed employment, free housing, free LPG cylinders, assured minimum support price for farmers, and scholarships for marginalized students, among other initiatives.

The manifesto, unveiled by Trinamool MP Derek O'Brien, outlines ten commitments made by Mamata Banerjee, popularly known as 'Didi', including opposition to the CAA, Uniform Civil Code, and support for increased allowances under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. Under the manifesto, the TMC vows to offer 100 days of guaranteed work to all job card holders, with a minimum wage of ₹400 per day, and ensure dignified housing for every poor family nationwide. Additionally, it promises 5 kg of free ration per month for every ration card holder, doorstep delivery of ration, and 10 free LPG cylinders per year for families below the poverty line.

In addition to welfare measures, the manifesto promises a pension of ₹1,000 per month for individuals above 60 years, ₹10 lakh medical insurance for all, and the establishment of a price stabilization fund for fuel and LPG prices. Youth-focused initiatives include monthly stipends for students until the age of 25 and a student credit card scheme worth ₹10 lakh for further education.

Furthermore, the TMC has pledged monthly financial support for women akin to Bengal's Lakshmir Bhandar scheme, implementation of Swaminathan Commission recommendations for farmers, and apprenticeship opportunities for graduates and diploma holders below 25 years of age.

The Trinamool Congress's manifesto will be released in six different languages, including Nepali and Ol Chiki, a script used for the Santhali language, in addition to Bengali, English, Hindi, and Urdu.
