Several schools across Delhi-NCR received emails containing bomb threats on Wednesday morning. Among the targeted institutions were prominent names like Delhi Public School, Amity, and Mother Mary's. The security scare prompted immediate action from authorities, the schools were evacuated and thorough searches conducted by the Delhi Police.

Responding to the situation, affected schools took precautionary measures by closing their premises and immediately sending students home. Statements issued by school authorities, such as DPS Noida's principal's office, urged parents to collect their children promptly from designated gates. "This is to inform you that the school has received an email that threatens the safety and security of the students. As a precautionary measure we are sending the students back home immediately,” read the email sent by DPS.

Despite thorough searches conducted by law enforcement agencies, no suspicious items have been found thus far. Initial investigations by the Delhi Police suggest a coordinated effort behind the threatening emails, which lacked specific deadlines or individual recipient lists, indicating a mass distribution. Efforts to trace the origin of the threatening emails, including identifying IP addresses, are underway. The Delhi Police have labeled the situation as a malicious hoax designed to spread panic.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has demanded a detailed report from the Delhi Police, emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation and reassured parents of swift action against those responsible.

Despite the disruption caused by the threats, the safety and security of students remained a top priority. “Some schools have received bomb threats today morning. Students have been evacuated and those premises are being searched by Delhi Police. So far nothing has been found in any of the schools. We are in constant touch with the Police and the schools. Would request parents and citizens not to panic. School authorities will be in touch with parents wherever needed," said Delhi Education Minister Atishi.
