Congress MP Rahul Gandhi accuses BJP of trying to suppress his voice, says “They (BJP) did it because they are scared”
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the Union Government accusing the BJP of trying to suppress his voice in the Parliament while addressing a public meeting in Jaipur, in poll-bound Rajasthan on Saturday. The Wayanad MP further stated that the ongoing fight between the BJP and Congress is a fight of conflicting ideologies.
“The ruling BJP government wants the Women’s Reservation Bill implemented in 10 years, the Congress wants the bill implemented today, with the inclusion of the OBC’s. The bill must be implemented without waiting for a new census and delimitation.”said the Congress MP that the BJP is not serious and committed towards the implementation of the Women’s Reservation Bill and have brought it up as a diversionary tactic to shift focus from the real issues, such as the caste census or the Adani row. “We want the OBC women to also benefit from this Women’s Reservation Bill”, he added.
“No sooner did I introduce the topic of a caste census in the Parliament, BJP MP’s tried to suppress my voice. This is what they do, every time I try to highlight pertinent issues, they suppress my voice….. For the first time in India, maximum punishment in a defamation case was given and subsequently my Lok Sabha membership was suspended. They (BJP) did it because they are scared," said the Wayanad MP alleging that the ruling Government have tried in many ways to suppress his voice in the Parliament because they are scared.
Earlier today, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and senior party leader Mallikarjun Kharge laid the foundation stone of the new Pradesh Congress Committee in Jaipur. As part of the event, Rahul Gandhi distributed two-wheelers to meritorious girl students at Maharani College and even rode pillion on a girl's scooter. Additionally, Kharge and Rahul Gandhi will be inaugurating Gandhi Vatika, a park built near Central Park in the capital city, to introduce the younger generation to the life and struggles of Mahatma Gandhi.
