BJP’s Nishikant Dubey claims CBI probe initiated against TMC MP Mahua Moitra over the alleged ‘cash-for-query’ scam

Bharatiya Janata Party MP Nishikant Dubey informed that in response to his complaint, the Lokpal had issued a directive instructing the CBI to initiate an inquiry into TMC MP Mahua Moitra’s alleged cash-for-query scam on Wednesday. Responding to Nishikant’s claim, Moitra asked the ‘CBI first to file an FIR on ₹13,000 crore Adani coal scam.’

Taking to social media platform ‘X’, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey posted, “On my complaint, Lokpal today ordered a CBI inquiry against accused Mahua Moitra for indulging in corruption at the cost of national security.”

Retorting to Nishikant Dubey’s social media post, TMC MP Mahua Moitra said, “For media calling me- my answer:
1. CBI needs to first file FIR on ₹13,000 crore Adani coal scam
2. National security issue is how dodgy FPI-owned (inc Chinese & UAE ) Adani firms buying Indian ports & airports with @HMOIndia clearance
Then CBI welcome to come, count my shoes.”

Nishikant Dubey alleged that TMC’s Mahua Moitra takes bribes from businessman Darshan Hiranandani for posing questions in the House. In a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Dubey further claimed that the TMC MP had shared her official login credentials with the Dubai-based businessman, and accepted bribes from him in exchange for singling out Prime Minister Narendra Modi by asking questions about the Adani Group in Parliament.

Moitra had appeared before the Parliamentary body probing into the charges leveled against her by BJP MP Nishikant Dubey. A visibly livid Moitra stormed out of the meeting, closely followed by the other MPs, she alleged that ‘filthy questions’ were asked to her during the examination.
