"BJP's '400 Paar' Campaign a 'Super Flop' in Bihar": Tejashwi Yadav Asserts Mahagathbandhan's Victory in Bihar in the First Phase of Lok Sabha Elections

"The Mahagathbandhan is winning all four seats in the first phase," asserted RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav after the completion of the 1st phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections on Friday. Yadav criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party's "400 paar" campaign, labeling it as a "super flop" film on its very first day. He added that the people of Bihar will teach a lesson to the BJP.

"The Mahagathbandhan is winning all four seats in the first phase. We have held block-wise meetings and the feedback has been very good. The BJP's "400 paar" film has become a super flop on the first day itself. The people of Bihar are aware and will teach them a lesson," said the RJD leader.

Tejashwi Yadav further underscored the lack of competition in the first phase, confidently asserting that Bihar will deliver surprising outcomes in this election cycle. He spoke about the alleged unfulfilled promises made by Prime Minister Modi in previous elections and the fatigue among the public regarding the BJP's rhetoric. Yadav reiterated his party's commitment to offering Bihar a special package along with special status, addressing the state's long-standing grievances.

According to the Election Commission's data, Bihar witnessed a voter turnout of 48.88% in the first phase of polling, covering four constituencies: Jamui, Nawada, Gaya, and Aurangabad. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP-led NDA, in coalition with the JDU and LJP, dominated Bihar by securing 39 out of 40 seats, leaving only one seat to the Mahagathbandhan.

The first phase of the Lok Sabha elections covered 102 constituencies across 21 states and Union Territories. It also saw heightened security measures and significant voter turnout despite reports of unrest and violence in certain areas. The 2024 General election is set to unfold in seven phases, beginning on April 19 and wrapping up on June 1. Each phase has its allotted dates, with Phase 1 kicking off on April 19, followed by successive phases on April 26, May 7, May 13, May 20, May 25, and finally, June 1. The process will reach its conclusion with the counting of votes and the announcement of results on June 4.
