The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday filed a complaint with the Election Commission, accusing Congress MP Rahul Gandhi of orchestrating a scheme to incite discord among citizens based on language and region. BJP leader Tarun Chugh stated, "Today we have complained to the Election Commission about the way Rahul Gandhi is constantly conspiring to make the country fight in the name of language and province...This time Congress has hatched a conspiracy to make the country fight by creating a rift between North and South." Chugh stated that Rahul Gandhi's speeches are aimed at fostering animosity between the North and South regions.

Following a meeting with the Election Commission, Chugh reiterated the BJP's stance, expressing concerns about Rahul Gandhi's alleged divisive rhetoric and urging strict action against such behavior.

At a roadshow in Wayanad, Gandhi said, "We did not get freedom from the British to be colonised by the ideology of the RSS. We want India to be ruled by all her people." Gandhi emphasized the Congress's commitment to inclusivity, stating, "The Congress wants to listen to the people of the country and love and respect their beliefs, language, religion, culture. But, the BJP wants to impose something from the top."

The Lok Sabha elections are being held in seven phases, with the first phase conducted on April 19. The second phase is scheduled for April 26, followed by subsequent phases on May 7, 13, 20, 25, and June 1. The counting of votes is slated for June 4.
