BJP devises an A-B-C-D model based on the winnability factor in poll-bound Rajasthan

Ahead of the Assembly elections in Rajasthan, the BJP is employing multiple strategies to regain power in the state. The party has divided the state's 200 Assembly constituencies into four groups, A, B, C, and D, based on their winnability factor. The seats with the highest winnability factor have been grouped in the 'A' category, while the 'B' category comprises seats with lower winnability factor. The 'C' category consists of seats that are weaker than the 'B' category, while the weakest seats have been grouped together in the 'D' category. This comes at a time when the Bharatiya Janata Party is conducting 'Parivartan Yatras' in different districts of Rajasthan; however, the party workers are concerned about the lack of a prominent face. The absence of former BJP Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje ‘a prominent face’ and a crowd puller can be felt by the party.

Party workers have confirmed that the BJP's preliminary list of candidates for the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections will be released after Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Jaipur on September 25. Earlier, it was believed that the first list would be issued in the middle of the 'Parivartan Yatra', but party officials have officially denied this.
The BJP is likely to announce candidates for the strongest and weakest seats, A and D categories respectively, in the first list. As per sources, there are around 29 seats in the A category and 19 seats in the D category. Asind, Bhilwara, Udaipur, Rajsamand, Bikaner East, Ratangarh, Phulera, Vidyadhar Nagar, Malviya Nagar, Alwar City, Ajmer North, Ajmer South, Beawar, Nagaur, Sojat, Pali, Bali, Sursagar, Sanganer, Siwana, Bhinmal, and two other seats are among the strong BJP seats. Whereas Dantaramgarh, Sardarpura, Kotputli, Jhunjhunu, Sanchore, Barmer City, Fatehpur, Laxmangarh, Khetri, Nawalgarh, Rajgarh-Laxmangarh, Lalsot, Sikrai, Todabhim, Sapotra, Bari, Vallabhnagar, Bagidaura, and Bassi assembly are among the 19 weakest seats.

In the meantime, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is all set to embark upon a political yatra spanning over the 13 eastern districts of Rajasthan. The Jan Ashirwad Yatra is scheduled to commence on September 25, aimed at providing drinking water to the eastern districts of the state that fall under the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project.
