Bhajan Lal Sharma, a first-time MLA from Sanganer, was sworn in as the new chief minister of Rajasthan on Friday. Governor Kalraj Mishra administered the oath during a ceremony at Jaipur's Ramnivas Bag. Additionally, BJP leaders Diya Kumari who was a contending face for the CM post and Prem Chand Bairwa took their oaths as deputy chief ministers.

The oath-taking ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, and other prominent leaders of the party. Former CM of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot also attended the swearing-in ceremony.

Bhajan Lal Sharma was named the chief minister-designate by the Bharatiya Janata Party on Tuesday. This announcement took place in the company of the party's central observers, Rajnath Singh, Saroj Pandey, and Vinod Tawde.

The 56-year-old, originally affiliated with the ABVP, the student wing linked to the ideological mentor of the party, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, has consistently maintained a modest public presence. Within the party, he is perceived as an individual dedicated to organizational work by his colleagues.

In the recent assembly elections conducted in November, BJP secured 115 out of 199 seats, and the results were announced on December 3.​
