In a major breakthrough in the firing incident at filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s residence, police have arrested a second shooter from Agra. The arrest was made in a joint operation by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force and Mumbai Crime Branch.
The accused, identified as Pradeep Kumar, is linked to the notorious Shubham Lonkar gang. He was arrested on April 16, 2026, from the Chhadami Mattha on the Agra–Etawah Road in Agra. Acting on precise intelligence inputs, the police team cordoned off the area and successfully apprehended him.
During the investigation, the Mumbai Crime Branch relied on technical evidence and intelligence inputs, following which assistance was sought from the UP STF. A special team was formed in Agra, leading to the accused's arrest.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that he was influenced by the activities of the Shubham Lonkar gang on social media. He admitted to participating in the firing incident along with his associates to create panic.
Police have already arrested several other accused in connection with the case, while some suspects are still absconding.
The arrested accused has been handed over to the Mumbai Crime Branch and is being brought to Mumbai for further questioning.
According to officials, efforts are ongoing to track down the remaining members of the gang, and more arrests are expected soon.
The firing incident took place on February 1, 2026, outside Rohit Shetty’s residence in Mumbai’s Juhu area, triggering widespread concern and a high-level investigation.
