A tragic accident near Shivajinagar on Friday night claimed the lives of nine people when an Ertiga car veered off the road and fell into a well. Six of those who died were students.
The group was on their way back home after attending a reunion of a private coaching class when the incident took place, leaving the area in shock.
The accident happened around 10 pm near a well owned by Raju Raje. As the car plunged into the water-filled well.
However rescue teams rushed to the spot and personnel from the NDRF, along with local police, administration officials and residents, worked through the night to retrieve the vehicle. In darkness and the depth of the well made the operation challenging.
After several hours, the car was finally pulled out using a crane. All nine occupants were found dead. The victims are said to be from Indore village in Dindori taluka.
Among those who lost their lives were five members of the Dargode family Sunil Dattu Dargode, Rakhi Sunil Dargode, Usha Anil Dargode, Shraddha Anil Dargode and Shravani Anil Dargode along with four of their relatives.
