High Alert in South Mumbai After Bomb Threat to Legislature, BSE and High Court

On Thursday, A bomb threat has caused panic in Mumbai after several key locations including the Vidhan Bhavan, Bombay Stock Exchange, and the High Court received threats of being blown up.

In response, Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar has banned the entry of visitors.

The threatening email was received while the important state budget session is currently underway, leading to major concern within the administration. The threat mentioned not only the Vidhan Bhavan but also the Bombay Stock Exchange, the Bombay High Court, and the Mumbai Metro, stating that these places would be blown up with bombs.
Following this, security agencies have issued a high alert across South Mumbai. In this backdrop, a major decision has been taken.

After the email threatening to blow up the Maharashtra Legislature with bombs was received, an atmosphere of tension has prevailed across South Mumbai today.

Considering the seriousness of the threat, Assembly Speaker Rahul Narwekar has taken strict measures. He has banned visitors from entering the Legislature premises for the entire day and has also ordered the temporary cancellation of all types of entry passes, according to available information.

Along with the Legislature, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Asia’s largest stock exchange also received a bomb threat. Following the threat, Mumbai Police immediately began a search operation in the BSE building.

Currently, teams of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS), and a dog squad have reached the spot. These teams are thoroughly checking the entire area.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut alleged that Mumbai is no longer safe. He said that despite Maharashtra having such a “brilliant Home Minister,” incidents like this are happening. “We have seen the Parliament attack with our own eyes and we have also witnessed terrorist attacks. I hope this turns out to be only a rumour and not reality,” he said.​
