According to the investigation, the woman received a call from the lead suspect, the Dial 112 driver, around 11pm, who persuaded her to meet at a secluded housing unit in the Banki locality. Once there, she was allegedly assaulted by the driver and his four accomplices.
The assailants reportedly escaped after the incident, leaving the woman in an unconscious condition at the site. She later came to, returned to her residence, and confided in her family about the ordeal. Her family members rushed her to the local medical college hospital, where she is receiving ongoing medical attention.
Medical personnel at the facility informed the police, which led to the involvement of higher-ranking officers. Under instructions from the district's superintendent of police, a specialised unit was established to track down those responsible. Subsequent police operations included targeted raids, culminating in the capture of the two suspects, among them the emergency service driver.
