On the second day in Manipur, team NTT travelled to the foothills of Leimakhong where hundreds of women had challenged the roadblock by Indian Army. These women, part of Meira Paibi, wanted to go back to their villages where their houses have been burnt down. Homeless and away from land, they wanted to go and see what the violence had left behind. The Army stopped them citing security and safety issues of these women. But suddenly sounds gun shots filled in the air, forcing the women and team NTT to look for cover. Indian Army cordoned the area, covered the women and everyone else till the area was sanitised. It took hours for the force to inforce dominance and then these women went back to their relief camps, their new home that constantly reminds them of all that they have lost due to the violence.
