The investigation into the suspicious deaths of four members of a family in Bhindi Bazaar has taken a fresh turn after the histopathology report submitted by JJ Hospital to the Mumbai Police revealed that one of the deceased, Abdullah, was suffering from a serious kidney ailment.
According to the report, traces of the disease’s impact were found in Abdullah’s organs and body tissues. Histopathology, a detailed microscopic examination of organs and tissues conducted during post-mortem analysis, helps medical experts detect infections, inflammation, tissue damage, and signs of toxic substances.
Doctors say such reports are crucial in determining whether a death was caused by natural illness, poisoning, or other medical complications.
Meanwhile, the police investigation has uncovered another significant lead.
Sources said the bottle of suspected rat poison, believed to have been used in the incident, was not found inside the room where the family members were discovered.
Investigators suspect the bottle containing zinc phosphide, a commonly used rodenticide, may have been thrown out of the window after use. Acting on this suspicion, police teams have launched a search operation in the surrounding area and within the building premises to locate the missing bottle.
Police are also trying to trace where the Dokadia family allegedly procured the poison, but no leads have emerged so far. Multiple teams are working to piece together the sequence of events and ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the deaths.
The case continues to remain under active investigation as authorities attempt to uncover the truth behind the tragic incident.
